Most people think of Wilsede and Undeloh — the big tourist spots in the north — when they hear "Lüneburg Heath". We're further south. Quieter. Wider. More authentic.
In the north, tour buses queue up. Here, the heath is yours — you'll meet shepherds with their flocks, not crowds.
Tietlinger Wacholderheide, Misselhorner Heide, Becklinger Moor — quiet natural areas that even heath connoisseurs often overlook.
Aller river meadows to the south, blooming heath to the north, old beech forests in between. No other heath region is this varied over such a short distance.
Real villages, working farms, farm shops with their own produce. Not an open-air museum — everyday life you're welcome to share in.
A7 motorway exit just minutes away, Hanover & Hamburg each around an hour. Celle, Bergen-Belsen and Serengeti-Park are also quickly reached from here.
From August to early September, the heath blooms purple here too — just without the search for parking and queues at the entrance.
